It’s a best practice to ensure you are always ready to make a move, whether an unexpected opportunity appears or the decision is out of your control (i.e. layoff). Get a fresh set of eyes on your resume to bring more clarity, conciseness, and impact to your story so you can stand out amongst your competition.
In this session folks can sign up for 15 min slots for a 1:1 resume review with Lori and/or swap their resumes with other WAC Seattle members to get some fresh perspective. Timeslots with Lori are first come first serve so make sure to arrive on time if you want one! Resumes are forever daunting but through a little collective work, make yourself shine off that 8.5 by 11 page.
⚖️ Dr. Robert Bullard: The Quest for Environmental and Climate Justice
When: Tues, Apr 9th from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM
Where: Town Hall Seattle
Climate change is the defining global environmental justice, human rights and public health issue of the twenty-first century. The most vulnerable populations in the United States and around the world will suffer the earliest and most damaging setbacks because of where they live, their limited income and economic means, and their lack of access to health care.
Professor Bullard’s presentation will focus primarily on the U.S. and the need for empowering vulnerable populations, identifying environmental justice and climate change “hot-spot” zones and designing fair, just and effective adaptation, mitigation, emergency management and community resilience and disaster recovery strategies. He will offer a framework for dismantling systemic racism and policies and practices that create, exacerbate and perpetuate inequality and vulnerability.
