Climate Opportunities
🚀 Village Capital, in partnership with the Sage Foundation, has launched the Sage Impact Entrepreneurship Program, an equity-free accelerator program that will support 12-13 early-stage and underrepresented startups based in the US who are making a positive environmental, social, and economic impact in their communities. The companies will receive small grants, Sage’s product support, access to Village Capital’s investment-readiness curriculum, and mentorship from investors and climate-focused subject matter experts. Applications are open until January 10th, 2025.
📝 Climate Storytelling 2075 is back for its second climate anthology series. The 6-month, cohort-based program centers around the development of dynamic and multimedia narratives that address the question: How do you envision a desirable climate future in the year 2075? The program gives young people from frontline communities a platform for world-building that leverages the arts and storytelling to explore solutions for adaptation, mitigation, and sustainability at local, regional, and global scales. Proposals are due by January 31st, 2025.

For the Birds features a jazz quintet performing the original music of Seattle pianist and composer Nelda Swiggett. But this is not just a concert. The performance engages the power of artistic expression — live music, spoken words, images and poetry — to connect audiences deeply and emotionally to the scientific realities of climate change. Ultimately a story of hope, individuals leave the performance feeling empowered to take meaningful action.
