Hope you all had a great holiday last week! After a brief lull, Seattle Climate Tech is back in full-force. This Tuesday, head downtown in the afternoon to hear about 🔌 how to transform the UW’s energy systems, then spend the evening in Ballard at the 🍻 Women And Climate happy hour. On Wednesday, stay on theme with the 🚗 Women of EVs happy hour in Georgetown, learn our favorite fish on Capitol Hill at a s🐟 The Lost Salmon film screening, or talk ⚛️ Climate Change & Nuclear Solutions in at Bickerson’s in Ballard. Wrap up the week on Saturday with the 🌲 Green Business Happy Hour in South Lake Union.

Our Women and Climate (WAC) Seattle chapter is hosting its first event - an informal happy hour on July 11th. Women and Climate* is an international community of women interested in climate. We believe in inclusivity, and this is a space for everyone interested in climate, not just those already working in the climate space. Our organization is specifically focused on building up women, but everyone is welcome to attend our happy hour event—this is a space for building our climate-conscious community among all people in the Seattle area.

Join the Seattle chapter of Women of Electric Vehicles (WEVs) for drinks and professional headshots! We aim to connect and empower women to create change within and beyond the WEVs community. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet other women in the EV field, network, take headshots ($40 for one professional retouched headshot delivered via Google Drive), and learn about the group’s future plans. This event is free and intended for women in the Seattle-Tacoma area who currently work in the transportation electrification field.
🐟 Film Screening of Shane Anderson's The Lost Salmon

Join Patagonia, Wild Salmon Center, and filmmaker Shane Anderson for a screening of his Emmy award-winning film The Lost Salmon, with special guests from the Confederated Tribes of the Chehalis Reservation and Wild Orca. Drink some beer, enter the gear raffle, and discover the incredible life history of spring Chinook, and how traditional knowledge and modern science can help bring these wild fish back from the brink.

Join Friends of Fission Northwest for a live event at Bickersons Brewhouse in Ballard. We will start at 6:30pm with a Science Trivia contest with prizes. Washington’s energy needs are increasing, given climate change, growth and electrification. The solution is to be sure we include nuclear power in our clean energy mix. Join Dr. James Conca to learn how we can avoid blackouts and get to net-zero carbon emissions. Bring all your questions!
🌲 Green Business Happy Hour

Seattle Good Business Network and EnviroStars invite you to join us for a summer evening of refreshment, snacks, and sustainability as we walk through key resources and best practices for small businesses to either start or advance your green business journey using the free EnviroStars* toolkit. Seattle Public Utilities Green Business Program will provide free giveaways like water conservation kits, recycling and composting posters and stickers, and strainers!
