These are not the usual suspects from global climate stages, but folks intentionally leveraging their niche platforms to scale impact and help shift social norms. When: Tue, Aug 1st from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Where: Civility & Unrest, 10455 Bellevue Way NE, Bellevue, WA 98004, USA
Brought to you by Settle Tech Week, hear from speakers about ways they are delivering solutions to impact crops, and brainstorm about new approaches in agriculture! One of the main challenges facing growers today is the increasing demand for food due to global population growth. By 2050, the world’s population is expected to reach 9.7 billion, requiring a 70% increase in food production. Come for a discussion on different solutions that arose from the urgent need for innovative and sustainable solutions to increase crop yield and quality.

Where: Zoom or Mithun – 1201 Alaskan Wy #200, Seattle, WA 98101
Join the AIA Seattle Committee on the Environment (COTE) for an evening of PechaKucha presentations on all things sustainable. Back by popular demand, this event is a great opportunity to share your ideas and projects and be inspired by others’ experiences. Please join us in advancing our shared commitment to a balanced, regenerative, healthy future for all – critters included. As usual, our focus is the built environment, but we embrace a broad scope in defining what that means. We want to learn from each other how to meet the challenge of living responsibly in the 21st century.

Activities include seeding, transplanting, weeding, mulching, bed building, and more!

Climate Tech Cities
We are expanding! We started as an 8-person dinner and now have over 4,000 members in our community. We’ve had people across the world reach out to us to start their own chapters - so we’re launching a new Climate Tech Cities organization this year! If you have friends who are interested in becoming chapter leads, please share the word. Here’s to a global network of local communities making a positive impact!
Thanks much for sharing about my Living Change podcast! I loved interviewing city leaders and mayors from across the country for my #cities focused episodes. I talked with super interesting people like Alex Fisch (former mayor and city council person of Culver City/now Special AG in CA for housing), John Bauters (social justice focused mayor of Emeryville), Barbara Buffaloe, mayor of Columbia, MO, and the super interesting Nat Geo photographer / always bike riding background of Oregon State Rep/former Milwaukie mayor, Mark Gamba. The cities-focused stories and opportunities are real! Excited to see more focus on their importance as we head into Climate Week NYC and COP28.
