We’re looking forward to kicking off Seattle summertime with a couple of outdoor events this week (fingers crossed the sun comes back to join us, too)! Join us at the 🧺Women in Climate Picnic on Wednesday at Woodland Park Zoo to chat about careers in climate and meet other women in the space, and get your hands dirty and learn about regenerative agriculture while 🚜 volunteering at 21 Acres on Saturday in Woodinville.
Other exciting events this week: the 16th edition of the Green Marine conference at ⛴️ Greentech 2023 starting today at the Grand Hyatt Seattle Hotel, 🐺 Panel Discussion: Rewilding Northshore on conservation in urban land contexts on Tuesday in Kenmore, and the 🏢 Bullitt Center Tour of "the greenest office building in the world” on Saturday in Seattle.

GreenTech is the not-to-be-missed event of the year for anyone interested in the maritime industry, green technologies, and innovation in sustainable maritime transportation. The program always includes renowned speakers, state-of-the-art exhibitors, networking opportunities with a large array of people keenly interested in sustainable maritime transportation, and more!
🐺 Panel Discussion: Rewilding Northshore… and Beyond?
When: Tue, Jun 13th from 7:30 PM to 7:30 PM
Where: Environmental Education and Research Center (EERC), Kenmore, WA
This event will bring together a panel of participants to consider the philosophical, cultural, and natural science underpinnings of rewilding, as well as some of the complex issues that it raises, such as the role of people in rewilding, synergies and tensions between biodiversity conservation and rewilding, the relationship between Native American perspectives and rewilding, challenges arising from rewilding in an urban context, and the implications of a rewilding effort in Northshore. All interested members of the public are welcome, and audience participation in this conversation is encouraged.
🧺 Women in Climate Picnic
When: Wed, Jun 14th from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Where: Woodland Park, Seattle, WA
Join us for our very first Women in Climate picnic, hosted by Work on Climate Seattle! In our commitment to creating a supportive and welcoming space, we emphasize that this meet-up is fully inclusive of trans women. We recognize and celebrate the diversity within the climate movement, and aim to build bridges and empower each other as we collectively tackle the challenges of climate change.
🚜 Volunteer at 21 Acres: Farm Stewardship
When: Sat, Jun 17th from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM
Where: 21 Acres Center for Local Food and Sustainable Living, Woodinville, WA
Work alongside knowledgeable 21 Acres staff on a variety of seasonal restoration and farm projects that build soil health and climate resilience. Your help supports local food systems by increasing farm productivity; building habitat for animals, birds, and insects; decreasing stormwater runoff; and storing carbon. Activities include seeding, transplanting, weeding, mulching, bed building, and more!
🏢 Bullitt Center Tours 2023
When: Sat, Jun 17th from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM
Where: Bullitt Center, Seattle, WA
Tour the world famous Bullitt Center, described by Architectural Digest as "the greenest office building in the world. Tours will begin in the second floor lobby, and include the building's mechanical and electrical rooms, the grey water and rain water treatment systems, vacuum toilets and the "irresistible" stairway.
