TEDxLacamas Lake Countdown features 16 speakers and performers giving TEDx presentations to share their work as climate champions. Where: Washington Clean Energy Testbeds, 4625 Union Bay Pl NE, Seattle, WA
The first free public meeting on Virtual Power Plants in Washington will be hosted by the Washington Clean Energy Testbeds (WCET). In VPPs, home and facility owners install large batteries that provide on-demand power to the grid and backup power to the home during blackouts. Utilities subsidize the batteries and installation. They have great impacts for all stakeholders. VPPs are the hottest sector of the energy industry right now and are starting to roll out in Washington. They will create many new companies and business/investment opportunities. WCET has unique equipment to model VPPs and help them develop here faster. Come learn about VPPs from local and national experts and enjoy a social hour! Registration is limited to 60 people and it's half full already. Act fast!
🌏 Washington’s Leadership in the Global Climate Movement
When: Thurs, Nov 16th from 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM
Where: The Wyncote NW Forum, 1119 8th Ave, Seattle, WA
State Representative Alex Ramel will moderate a panel of activists and experts who are supporting Washington’s diverse communities to build a shared, climate-safe future. People, movements, and politicians across the state have been able to pass landmark policies that benefit local communities, as well as inspire other regions to follow suit. From Seattle’s commercial energy codes, to Whatcom County’s first-ever ban on new fossil fuel infrastructure, to the statewide Climate Commitment Act, Washington continues to set examples for how progressive climate policies can support a thriving region.
