π Bullitt Center Tours 2023

The Bullitt Center, the greenest office building in the world, offers public tours 2 days a week. Tours include the building's mechanical and electrical rooms, water treatment systems, and more. Visitors must wear a face mask during the tour.
π Covenant of the Salmon People

Meaningful Movies Tacoma is presenting a screening and community conversation highlighting a powerful documentary about the Nez Perce Tribe's covenant with salmon and their efforts to uphold it amidst dams and climate impacts. Guest speakers will include Joseph Bogaard, Executive Director of Save Our Wild Salmon Coalition.

This documentary reveals how global warming is affecting the culture and survival of the Native people who live at the top of the world, focusing on the life of Inuit women and men who rely on hunting and fishing. Discussion will follow.

The Washington State Solar Summit is an annual event for industry stakeholders to gather information and network. It tackles the most timely issues and conversations surrounding solar energy and adoption in Washington. It is a must-attend conference for anyone engaged in solar deployment, education, and advocacy in Washington state.

Join us for an inspiring event hosted by Burien Collaborative at Lake Burien Presbyterian Church in Burien, WA, USA. This in-person webinar will introduce a radical approach to trauma by incorporating conscientization, embodied reflection and action. It will offer an opportunity for social justice equity workers to cultivate decolonial strategies for change, resilience and sustainability. Part 2 will be hosted November 3.
π Refashioned - A Recycled Fashion Show For A Cause, Fundraiser Event!

Join us for a night where art, creative recycle and fashion collide. This fundraiser event will highlight local fashion designers who focus on using recycled textile materials. Doors open at 6PM, fashion show starts at 7PM, with networking, pop-up shop, and beverages available for purchase. A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Chayah Movement in paying the wages of Sustainable Fashion Interns and more.
π§ Splash Course in Pacific Salmon
When: Sat, Oct 21st from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Where: Chautauqua Elementary School, 9309 Southwest Cemetery Road, Vashon, WA
Learn about the life cycle, species diversity, life histories, and habitat needs of Pacific salmon in the beautiful rural setting of Vashon Island, WA. Collaborate with other classroom teachers about teaching strategies. Practice skills to deliver accurate information related to climate change while encouraging hope and inspiring action in your students. Visit salmon habitat sites including streams and shorelines. Familiarize yourself with local resources and teaching aids. Take time to align your teaching goals to Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Leave with new, improved methods for Pacific salmon education in your classroom.
π² Thinning Your Forest for Climate Resilience
When: Sat, Oct 21st from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM
Where: 6212 Rosedale St NW, 6212 Rosedale Street Northwest, Gig Harbor, WA
This free workshop will introduce forest owners to strategies for increasing their forests' resilience in the face of climate change. Topics include evaluating forest health, selecting climate-adapted species, reducing fire risk, and funding forest stewardship. Participants can also sign up for free site visits with forestry experts. Presented by Northwest Natural Resource Group with support from USDA/NIFA.
π Volunteer at 21 Acres: Farm Stewardship

Where: 21 Acres Center for Local Food and Sustainable Living, 13701 NE 171st Street, Woodinville, WA
Ready to get involved in your local food system? Work alongside knowledgeable 21 Acres staff on a variety of seasonal restoration and farm projects that build soil health and climate resilience.
π³ Annual Green SeaTac Day Tree Planting
When: Sat, Oct 21st from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Where: North SeaTac Park & Ball Fields, South 128th Street, SeaTac, WA
Help restore North SeaTac Park's forest by removing invasive weeds and planting native trees, shrubs, and other plants. Join over 200 volunteers and community partners in this annual event to clean and cool the air in the community. Registration is required and can be done online or on-site.
