Virtual Climate Opportunities
🌎 The SOSV Climate Tech Summit (October 14-18) is a free, virtual and global event that features the top technologists, researchers, founders, investors, and policy makers working on the frontiers of climate innovation. Registration is open and free.
🔭 Activate is a nonprofit that empowers scientists to reinvent the world by launching startups to address climate change and other global challenges. Applications are now open for their Activate Fellowship! Where: Olympia Community Center, Olympia
Are you confused about what items are accepted in curbside recycling bins? Hope Springer, Thurston County’s Recycling & Waste Reduction Specialist, will answer your questions. Bring a bag of commonly confusing waste items you would like to know the recycling status of and Hope will be there to provide the answers. Hope is from Tacoma, and recently moved back to Washington after earning her master's degree in Environmental Sciences & Management at Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo where she also worked as a Life Cycle Analysis Researcher and Sustainability Outreach Coordinator.
✍️ Speak for the trees: Letter to the Editor writing workshop

Want to use your writing skills to protect our mature forests? Have you been wondering how your activism can have more impact and inspire others? Join Sierra Club's Public Lands Team for a Letter to the Editor Writing workshop! You'll learn how we can use op-eds and letters to the editor to help push Washington’s leadership and decision-makers to embrace ecological forestry and protect our last remaining mature forests from clear cuts.
⚡ PNW DERs: September Meetup

Come join the PNW DER community for our September meetup! We will be launching our focus groups, discussing updates, and potentially having a community presentation or discussing future event planning. We are expanding! We started as an 8-person dinner and now have over 4,000 members in our community.
